Always chase the bigger battles. You'd rather lose a big battle than win a tiny one. A bigger creator's room puts you in front of way more new people, so go after the bigger creators and the bigger matchups every single time.
Lighting makes a huge difference in how professional your LIVE looks. Use a ring light or good front lighting so your face pops on screen. You don't want it to look like a dark FaceTime call. Adding lighting in the background also helps create depth and makes your stream look more professional.
Music in the background is also important. Having low background music keeps the vibe going and helps avoid awkward silence when things slow down. It makes the stream feel more alive and keeps viewers comfortable staying in the room.

Quick tip, the title of your LIVE matters more than you think 👀
If your title is just something random, TikTok has no reason to push it out. But when you tie your LIVE into what's going on right now, you get a way better chance at traffic. If there's a big game on, trending drama, a viral topic, etc. and your title relates to it, TikTok can categorize your LIVE and push it to people already interested.
Examples:
Bottom line: Relevant = more exposure. More exposure = more people in your LIVE.
Consistency. TikTok rewards creators who go LIVE consistently. The creators who make the most money go live often, stay live for hours, and show up around the same time. The algorithm starts to recognize your LIVE and pushes it to more people. You don't need one viral night, you need consistent nights.
Run more battles. Battles create momentum, they bring in new viewers, increase engagement, create competition, and drive gifting. The more battles you run, the more chances for big moments. Creators who battle 20+ times a night often grow faster than people who only run a few.
Battle bigger creators. Don't only battle small creators. When you battle bigger ones you get exposed to their supporters, gain followers, and your name starts circulating. Even if you lose, you're still winning, thousands of people just saw you.

The Gifter Badge is a visual level that appears next to a viewer's name when they're in a live. It represents how much they've supported creators by sending gifts. Every time a user sends gifts, they earn experience points (XP), which increases their badge level.
As the level goes up:
Levels go all the way up to 50, with each level requiring more XP than the last. It's not tied to just one live, it reflects their overall gifting activity and updates as they keep sending gifts over time.
Posting videos isn't separate from going LIVE, it feeds it. More posts → more For You Page exposure → more followers → and more people who show up to your LIVE. Posting consistently literally boosts your LIVE views.

Do my followers matter on LIVE?
Way less than you'd think. LIVE runs on a different algorithm than your normal feed, so new people find your LIVE through battles and the live feed, not your follower count. See "How the LIVE algorithm works" below.
When and how do I get paid?
You earn from the gifts people send on your LIVE. Those become diamonds, and TikTok pays that out to your linked account. Full breakdown is in "How you get paid" below.
What if I lose every battle?
You still keep the money and the points, and every battle puts you in front of new viewers. You can literally lose your way to the top, see the Exposure tip in Step 4.
How often should I go live?
Daily if you can, same time each day, for at least an hour. Consistency is what TikTok rewards.
Do I need fancy equipment?
No. A phone, good lighting (a ring light helps), and solid wifi is enough to start.
How long until I see results?
This isn't instant. The creators who win stay consistent for weeks and don't quit early.

LIVE runs on a completely different algorithm than your normal For You feed. Your follower count barely matters here. New viewers get pushed into your LIVE based on engagement and battles, not how many followers you have, so don't stress your follower number.
There are really two algorithms at play: a regular live algorithm (people who just sit and watch your room) and a battle algorithm (your matchups against other creators).
When you first start battling, your views might dip a little. That's totally normal, it's just the algorithm adjusting to you battling. Keep going and it evens out fast, and from there battling becomes your fastest way to grow.

Snipe / sniping: waiting until the final 2 to 5 seconds of a battle to drop a huge gift, flipping the score and stealing the win before your opponent can react.
1. Viewers send gifts. People watching your LIVE buy coins and send gifts, especially during battles.
2. Gifts become diamonds. Every gift you receive turns into diamonds in your account.
3. Diamonds become money. TikTok converts your diamonds into real earnings paid to your linked bank account or PayPal.
4. You get paid weekly. Your battle and diamond earnings finalize every Sunday at 11:59 PM (your time zone) and are automatically deposited by the following Wednesday.
5. You keep it win or lose. You keep every diamond sent to you whether you win or lose a battle, so more LIVEs and more battles means more earnings.
